Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Program
When changing your substance using lifestyle to a substance free lifestyle, you recognize that the buffers from reality are now gone. Learning to live your life, make healthy decisions, coping with stressors, understanding Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms are all part of who you are becoming.
Our Outpatient Clinicians have many years of experience helping others. Outpatient is generally one on one counseling sessions, sometimes with family and other times not. Family members are invited to address all the issues that go along with living in a substance free home while learning about themselves. We encourage the use of self-help meetings to develop community support.
Intensive Outpatient Programs are much more intense, skill building, disease understanding, life managing program - for those who cannot remain sober without more support and treatment. IOP's at Carpe Diem are Monday through Thursday 9 to noon on a four-week rotation. In other words, after you complete the full four weeks, you will then work with an individual counselor to keep the skills and knowledge you developed fresh!
Aftercare
This comes after treatment is completed and both you and your counselor agree that you are ready to step down from weekly, to biweekly then monthly individual sessions. In these sessions you will concentrate on any problems in your daily life that arise that need special attention. As time passes, you will find that with your family, friends and outside support system, you have gained the confidence to live your life without depending on your past substance.
